La Lamborghini de l’Emil Frey Racing a remporté la première course de Sprint Cup de ce week-end à Zandvoort grâce à un pilotage sans faille de l’équipage suisse composé de Ricardo Feller et Alex Fontana.
La voiture n°14 a mené depuis l’avant de la grille de départ après l’excellente pole position de Feller et n’a pas été perturbée en direction du drapeau à damier, assurant aux deux pilotes un premier triomphe dans la compétition Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS. Feller et Fontana ont également remporté la Silver Cup, en tête d’une performance incroyable qui a vu cinq concurrents de classe parmi les six premiers du classement général.
Tout comme Feller, Ulysse de Pauw, qualifié en première ligne, a fait un excellent départ au volant de la Bentley CMR n°107 et s’est classé deuxième pendant la première demi-heure. Avec les Mercedes-AMG GT3 de Juuso Puhakka (#7 Toksport WRT) et Jim Pla (#87 AKKA ASP) occupant les deux positions suivantes, les équipages Silver Cup ont dominé les quatre premières places pendant cette phase de la compétition de 60 minutes.
Il est rapidement apparu que personne ne pouvait rivaliser avec la Lamborghini n°14 en tête, Feller ayant pris près de 10 secondes d’avance lors du premier relais. L’équipe d’Emil Frey Racing a fait preuve d’un calme remarquable lorsque le pilote suisse s’est arrêté pour effectuer son pit-stop, en entretenant calmement la voiture et en laissant Fontana repartir.
La Bentley CMR n°107 s’est maintenue en deuxième position après la fermeture de la fenêtre d’arrêt au stand, tandis que l’Audi Team WRT n°31 a grimpé en troisième position après un arrêt rapide de l’équipe belge. Frank Bird avait bien couru dans le premier relais avant de céder la place à Ryuichiro Tomita, mais le pilote japonais a rapidement vu un Raffaele Marciello grossir dans ses rétroviseurs.
La Mercedes-AMG AKKA ASP n°88 avait également bénéficié d’un service rapide et Marciello était dans son élément après avoir pris les commandes de Timur Boguslavskiy. L’Italien s’est rapidement débarrassé de Tomita et s’est lancé à la poursuite de Pierre-Alexandre Jean dans la Bentley classée deuxième, mais le Français n’était en aucun cas une cible facile.
Il a fallu du temps pour combler l’écart, mais Marciello a finalement réussi à s’imposer à sept minutes de l’arrivée. A ce stade, cependant, il avait plus de 16 secondes de retard sur Fontana et a dû se contenter d’une deuxième place âprement disputée. Le pilote suisse a ralenti sa course jusqu’au drapeau à damier et s’est imposé avec une marge de 9,6 secondes, s’assurant que lui et Feller deviennent le troisième équipage Silver Cup de l’histoire du Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS à triompher au classement général.
Jean a complété le top trois, le deuxième podium que lui et l’équipe CMR Bentley ont pris à Zandvoort après la deuxième place de l’année dernière. Le duo Mercedes-AMG Team Toksport WRT n°6, composé de Luca Stolz et Maro Engel, a pris la septième place, même si cela aurait pu être plus, après que Stolz ait pris un excellent départ de la neuvième à la cinquième place pendant le premier relais. La Lamborghini Barwell Motorsport n°77 s’est élancée de la pole position avec Miguel Ramos au volant, mais elle a été dépassée dès les premiers tours par la Ferrari AF Corse n°52 de Louis Machiels. Le pilote portugais était cependant loin d’être battu, lançant courageusement une attaque à l’extérieur de Tarzan et la faisant tenir.
Ramos a ensuite passé le relais à Henrique Chaves, qui a devancé Andrea Bertolini pour s’imposer avec plus de 15 secondes d’avance et permettre à Lamborghini de remporter la course. SPS Automotive Performance a complété le podium Pro-Am avec la Mercedes-AMG n°20 de Valentin Pierburg et Dominik Baumann.

Emil Frey Racing a réalisé une performance parfaite à Zandvoort en remportant la deuxième manche du Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Sprint Cup avec sa Lamborghini n°163.
L’équipe suisse a réalisé un doublé au cours d’une course imprévisible de 60 minutes, Albert Costa et Norbert Siedler menant la voiture sœur n°14 de Ricardo Feller et Alex Fontana jusqu’au drapeau à damier. Après avoir remporté la victoire au classement général en course 1, l’équipage Feller/Fontana a fait une nouvelle démonstration de force en remontant de la 16e place sur la grille pour prendre la deuxième place et remporter une nouvelle Silver Cup.
La physionomie de la course est apparue très différente au cours des 30 premières minutes. Raffaele Marciello s’est élancé de la pole au volant de la Mercedes-AMG AKKA ASP n°88 et a dominé le premier relais, prenant 15 secondes d’avance sur la Porsche Dinamic Motorsport n°54 de Christian Engelhart.
Le pilote allemand s’est échappé de la troisième place sur la grille de départ pour devancer Dries Vanthoor (Audi Team WRT n°32), qui a ensuite été victime de Costa sur le virage incliné d’Arie Luyendykbocht. La Bentley CMR n°107 de Pierre-Alexandre Jean a également dépassé l’Audi et il a fallu plusieurs tours avant que Vanthoor ne reprenne la quatrième place.
Costa s’arrête tôt pour passer la main à Siedler, une décision qui s’avérera déterminante pour la réussite de l’équipage de la #163. L’Autrichien expérime réalise plusieurs tours rapides, ce qui lui permet de distancer la Porsche n°54 lorsqu’Adrien De Leener prend le relais d’Engelhart.
Pourtant, rien ne semblait pouvoir arrêter la Mercedes-AMG n°88, car AKKA ASP a effectué un arrêt parfait qui a permis à l’équipe française de remporter le Pit Stop Challenge. Timur Boguslavskiy a pris le volant de Marciello et semblait à l’aise en tête du peloton, mais il a été frappé par un problème électrique soudain qui a forcé la voiture à l’abandon.
Cela a permis à Siedler de prendre la tête, mais la Lamborghini n°163 avait encore du travail à faire, car Charles Weerts a progressé dans l’Audi n°32 du Team WRT. Le pilote réduit l’avance de Siedler à une seconde, mais l’Autrichien réagit et semble capable de garder l’Audi à distance. En tête, Siedler a pu remporter une victoire confortable, sa première en Sprint Cup depuis la visite de la série à Misano en 2015. La Lamborghini #114 Emil Frey Racing a terminé quatrième après une superbe prestation des nouveaux venus en GT Jack Aitken et Konsta Lappalainen. Ce dernier a passé le deuxième relais à se battre contre le jeune Ulysse De Pauw, qui était deuxième de la Silver Cup avec son coéquipier Jean de la CMR Bentley #107. La Mercedes-AMG AKKA ASP n°89 s’est classée sixième, tandis que l’Audi Team WRT n°31 a terminé septième au classement général et a complété le podium de la Silver Cup. Rinaldi Racing (Ferrari n°33), Madpanda Motorsport (Mercedes-AMG n°90) et Saintéloc Racing (Audi n°25) complètent le top 10.
Après 12 podiums en 13 courses sans victoire, SPS Automotive Performance a finalement obtenu une première victoire méritée dans la catégorie Pro-Am avec sa Mercedes-AMG n°20. Dominik Baumann a effectué le premier relais avant de céder la place à son coéquipier Valentin Pierburg, qui a subi la pression de l’Aston Martin Garage 59 n°188 d’Alexander West.
Le pilote allemand a résisté à la tempête et s’est finalement détaché de son rival. La Mercedes-AMG comptait 12 secondes d’avance sur l’Aston Martin au moment du drapeau à damier, tandis que la Ferrari AF Corse n°52 complétait le podium de la catégorie. La Lamborghini Barwell Motorsport n°77 avait pris la pole position de la catégorie Pro-Am, mais elle a déclaré forfait après que le pilote Miguel Ramos ait dû quitter Zandvoort pour des raisons personnelles.
Le résultat de la course 2 fait de Feller le leader surprise du championnat des pilotes de la Sprint Cup, tandis que le Team WRT et Emil Frey Racing sont à égalité en tête du classement des équipes. Emil Frey Racing Lamborghini scored a dominant win in the first of this weekend’s Sprint Cup contests at Zandvoort thanks to a faultless drive from its all-Swiss crew of Ricardo Feller and Alex Fontana.
The #14 car led from the front of the grid following Feller’s outstanding pole position lap and was untroubled on its journey to the chequered flag, securing both drivers a maiden overall triumph in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS competition. Feller and Fontana also wrapped up victory in the Silver Cup, headlining an incredible performance that saw five class contenders among the overall top-six.
Just as Feller controlled the start, fellow front-row qualifier Ulysse de Pauw also made an excellent launch in the #107 CMR Bentley and ran second throughout the opening half-hour. With the Mercedes-AMG GT3 machines of Juuso Puhakka (#7 Toksport WRT) and Jim Pla (#87 AKKA ASP) holding the next two positions, Silver Cup crews dominated the top-four spots during this phase of the 60-minute contest.
It was quickly clear that no one could match the #14 Lamborghini out front, with Feller pulling almost 10 seconds clear during the first stint. The Emil Frey Racing crew were remarkably cool when the Swiss driver pulled in to make his pit stop, calmly servicing the car and sending Fontana on his way.
The #107 CMR Bentley held on to second position after the pit stop window had closed, while the #31 Team WRT Audi vaulted to third following a typically rapid stop from the Belgian team. Frank Bird had run well in the opening stint before handing over to Ryuichiro Tomita, though the Japanese driver soon had a charging Raffaele Marciello filling his mirrors.
The #88 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG had also profited from a quick service and Marciello was in his element after taking the controls from Timur Boguslavskiy. The Italian has soon dispatched Tomita and set off in pursuit of Pierre-Alexandre Jean in the second-place Bentley, though the Frenchman was by no means an easy target.
It took time to bridge the gap, but Marciello ultimately made a move stick with seven minutes left on the clock. By this stage, however, he was more than 16 seconds behind Fontana and had to settle for a hard-fought runner-up finish. The Swiss driver eased off on his run to the chequered flag and won by a margin of 9.6 seconds, ensuring that he and Feller became just the third Silver Cup crew in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS history to triumph overall.
Jean completed the top-three, the second podium that he and the CMR Bentley squad have taken at Zandvoort after last year’s runner-up finish. Fourth position, as well as the final spot on the Silver Cup podium, went to the #31 Team WRT Audi of Bird and Tomita, while the #7 Toksport WRT Mercedes-AMG was fifth after a late pass by Óscar Tunjo overhauled the #87 AKKA ASP car of Konstantin Tereschenko.
The #6 Mercedes-AMG Team Toksport WRT duo of Luca Stolz and Maro Engel took seventh, though it could perhaps have been more after Stolz made a great start from ninth to run fifth during the opening stint. A slow pit stop dropped the car back to seventh, leaving Engel to fend off title rival Dries Vanthoor (#32 Team WRT Audi) to the finish. Behind the Belgian driver, two more Audi squads completed the overall top-10: the #26 of Saintéloc Racing and Attempto Racing with its #66 machine.
Pro-Am honours were closely disputed from lights to flag. The #77 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini started from pole with Miguel Ramos at the wheel but was overhauled during the opening stages by the #52 AF Corse Ferrari of Louis Machiels. The Portuguese driver was far from beaten, however, bravely launching an attack around the outside of Tarzan and making it stick.
Ramos then handed over to Henrique Chaves, who pulled clear of Andrea Bertolini to win by more than 15 seconds and ensure a clean sweep for Lamborghini. SPS Automotive Performance completed the Pro-Am podium with the #20 Mercedes-AMG of Valentin Pierburg and Dominik Baumann.
Today’s action will be followed by another full day of competition on Sunday. Drivers will qualify at 09:00 CEST, while the weekend’s closing race begins at 14:30 and once again runs for 60-minutes. With mixed weather conditions forecast, a very different contest could be in store at Zandvoort. Emil Frey Racing completed a perfect performance at Zandvoort by taking victory in the weekend’s second Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Sprint Cup contest with its #163 Lamborghini.
The Swiss squad secured a one-two finish in an unpredictable 60-minute race, with Albert Costa and Norbert Siedler leading the sister #14 car of Ricardo Feller and Alex Fontana to the chequered flag. Having captured overall victory yesterday, the Feller/Fontana crew added another strong showing today by climbing from 16th on the grid to take runner-up spot and another Silver Cup triumph.
The complexion of the race appeared very different during the opening 30 minutes. Raffaele Marciello led away from pole in the #88 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG and dominated the opening stint, pulling out a lead of 15 seconds over the chasing #54 Dinamic Motorsport Porsche of Christian Engelhart.
The German driver had made an excellent getaway from third on the grid to jump ahead of Dries Vanthoor (#32 Team WRT Audi), who then fell victim to Costa on the banked Arie Luyendykbocht. The #107 CMR Bentley of Pierre-Alexandre Jean also overhauled the Audi and it would be several laps before Vanthoor eventually re-took fourth spot.
Costa stopped early to hand over to Siedler, a decision that would prove critical to the #163 crew’s success. The experienced Austrian found clean air and produced a number of quick laps, doing enough to undercut the #54 Porsche when Adrien De Leener took over from Engelhart.
Still, it appeared that nothing could deny the #88 Mercedes-AMG as AKKA ASP completed a textbook stop that helped the French outfit to secure Pit Stop Challenge honours. Timur Boguslavskiy took the wheel from Marciello and looked comfortable at the head of the field, only to be struck by a sudden electrical issue that forced the car into retirement.
This elevated Siedler into the lead, though the #163 Lamborghini still had work to do as Charles Weerts made gains in the #32 Team WRT Audi. The youngster cut Siedler’s lead to one second, but the Austrian responded and seemed able to keep the Audi at bay. His task was made simpler when the Team WRT car was handed a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pit lane, costing Weerts significant time and ending his pursuit of victory.
This promoted the #14 Emil Frey Racing Lamborghini to second, a result that had looked highly improbable after the car qualified 16th. But an excellent first stint vaulted Fontana into the overall top-10 and the Silver Cup lead, while Feller continued this progress during the second stint. The #14 also benefited from bad luck befalling Dinamic Motorsport, which saw a potential podium slip away due to a steering failure on its #54 Porsche.
At the front Siedler was able to collect a comfortable win, his first in the Sprint Cup since the series visited Misano in 2015. Feller brought the sister car home second and bagged another Silver Cup triumph, while Weerts secured third and important championship points despite his penalty.
The #114 Emil Frey Racing Lamborghini was fourth following a superb showing from GT newcomers Jack Aitken and Konsta Lappalainen. The latter spent the second stint fending off fellow youngster Ulysse De Pauw, who was runner-up in the Silver Cup with #107 CMR Bentley teammate Jean. The #89 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG was sixth, while the #31 Team WRT Audi finished seventh overall and completed the Silver Cup podium. Rinaldi Racing (#33 Ferrari), Madpanda Motorsport (#90 Mercedes-AMG) and Saintéloc Racing (#25 Audi) rounded out the top-10.
After taking 12 podiums finishes from 13 races without a win, SPS Automotive Performance finally secured a deserved maiden victory in the Pro-Am class with its #20 Mercedes-AMG. Dominik Baumann tackled the opening stint before handing over to teammate Valentin Pierburg, who came under pressure from the #188 Garage 59 Aston Martin of Alexander West.
The German driver weathered the storm and ultimately pulled away from his rival. The Mercedes-AMG was 12 seconds clear of the Aston Martin by the time the chequered flag fell, while the #52 AF Corse Ferrari completed the class podium. The #77 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini had earlier taken Pro-Am pole but withdrew from the event after driver Miguel Ramos was required to leave Zandvoort for personal reasons.
The result of today’s race makes Feller the surprise overall leader in the Sprint Cup drivers’ championship, while Team WRT and Emil Frey Racing are tied at the top of the teams’ standings. Fontana and Emil Frey Racing enjoy a significant lead in the Silver Cup classification, while SPS Automotive Performance and the crew of Pierburg/Baumann have established a narrow gap in Pro-Am.
From Zandvoort, teams will travel directly to the Belgian Ardennes to undertake the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa test days (22–23 June). The next Sprint Cup event at Misano follows just over a week later (2–4 July), while the season’s marquee race takes place at the end of the month (29 July-1 August). After a standout weekend in the Netherlands, Emil Frey Racing will carry crucial momentum into the busiest period of the season.
