Yamaha a en effet décidé de suspendre son pilote en raison d’une opération ‘irrégulière’ effectuée sur sa moto le week-end dernier.
Maverick Viñales (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), actuellement sixième au classement général, ne disputera pas le Grand Prix d’Autriche : annonce faite jeudi par le biais d’un communiqué.
Yamaha a en effet décidé de suspendre le Catalan, après avoir détecté une opération irrégulière et inexpliquée, dans l’analyse approfondie de la télémétrie et des données. Le constructeur japonais étant plus exactement venu à la conclusion suivante : ses actions auraient pu causer ‘d’importants dommages au moteur de sa M1’ et donc le mettre en danger lui, ainsi que les autres pilotes.
La marque fait également savoir qu’il ne sera pas remplacé sur cette épreuve. De nouvelles discussions auront lieu avec le pilote et la situation sera étudiée de façon plus approfondie pour statuer sur son sort.

Yamaha suspends and withdraws Viñales from Austrian GP
Due to the unexplained irregular operation of the motorcycle in the Styria race, Viñales won’t be riding at the Red Bull Ring
Yamaha regrets to announce that Maverick Viñales’ entry to this weekend’s Austrian MotoGP™ event has been withdrawn by the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team.
The absence follows the suspension of the rider by Yamaha due to the unexplained irregular operation of the motorcycle by the rider during last weekend’s Styria MotoGP™ race.
Yamaha’s decision follows an in-depth analysis of telemetry and data over the last few days.
Yamaha’s conclusion is that the rider’s actions could have potentially caused significant damage to the engine of his YZR-M1 bike which could have caused serious risks to the rider himself and possibly posed a danger to all other riders in the MotoGP™ race. The rider will not be replaced at the Austrian GP.
Decisions regarding the future races will be taken after a more detailed analysis of the situation and further discussions between Yamaha and the rider.
