par ELMG-Drive Racing a gagné trois des quatre dernières éditions des 4 Heures de Monza, et Franco Colapinto a propulsé l’écurie russe en tête des 42 voitures attendues pour les quatre heures de course de demain.
Laurents Hörr a signé la troisième pole position LMP3 consécutive de DKR Engineering, et le Champion du Monde d’Endurance FIA 2017 des Pilotes GT Alessandro Pier Guidi a offert la pole de la catégorie LMGTE à la Ferrari n°55 de Spirit of Race.
LMP2 : troisième pole 2021 pour G-Drive Racing, Colapinto première
Dix-huit voitures participent aux 10 minutes de qualifications. Louis Deletraz (Oreca n°41, Orlen Team WRT) signe le premier chrono de référence devant Jonathan Aberdein (Oreca n°22, United Autosports).
Après un séjour au stand selon la stratégie désormais coutumière de G-Drive Racing, l’Aurus n°26 est la dernière voiture en piste et Colapinto est immédiatement dans le rythme. Le jeune Argentin signe un temps de 1’37’’645 qui lui vaut la pole provisoire, puis améliore sous le drapeau à damier en 1’37’’469. Jonathan Aberdein est deuxième à quatre dixièmes, précédant de 0’’109 l’Oreca n°41.
Quatrième sur l’Oreca n°21 de DragonSpeed USA, Ben Hanley est le plus rapide des LMP2 Pro-Am, juste devant Logan Sargeant et l’Oreca de Racing Team Turkey. D’abord troisième, l’Américain rétrograde en cinquième position après avoir vu son chrono annulé pour dépassement des limites de la piste.
LMP3 : troisième pole position consécutive pour DKR Engineering
Laurents Hörr signe sa troisième pole d’affilée, plaçant la Duqueine-Nissan n°4 de DKR Engineering en tête du plateau LMP3 avec la plus étroite des marges. A l’issue des 10 minutes de qualifications, le vainqueur des 4 Heures du Castellet précède de seulement 0’’053 la Ligier n°13 du Belge Ugo de Wilde (Inter Europol Competition) et de 0’’092 Garett Grist et sa Ligier n°20 (Team Virage).
LMGTE : Pier Guidi, le « remplaçant de luxe » de Spirit of Race en pole position
Remplaçant de Matt Griffin chez Spirit of Race, Alessandro Pier Guidi a largement fait honneur à la confiance de l’équipe en s’adjugeant la pole position pour sa course à domicile à Monza. L’Italien a immédiatement dédié cette pole au père de Matt, décédé en début de semaine.
Alessio Rovera est tout d’abord le plus rapide sur la Ferrari n°88 de AF Corse, avec trois dixièmes d’avance sur Pier Guidi. Mais il se voit rapidement dépossédé de son bien par la Ferrari n°55 verte, qui signe un chrono de 1’46’’608. L’Aston Martin n°95 de TF Sport est troisième grâce à Ross Gunn (1’46’’670), tandis que Gianmaria Bruni est quatrième en 1’46’’674 sur la Porsche n°77 de Proton Competition.
Un écart infime de 0’’066 sépare les quatre premiers. La Ferrari 488 GTE Evo n°55 de Spirit of Race est la quatrième voiture différente en quatre courses à signer la pole position cette saison.

ELMS, G-Drive Racing on pole at Monza
G-Drive Racing have won three of the four previous editions of the 4 Hours of Monza and Franco Colapinto has put the Russian flagged team at the front of the 42-car grid for tomorrow’s four-hour race. Laurents Hörr took his third LMP3 pole in a row for DKR Engineering and 2017 FIA World GT Champion Alessandro Pier Guidi put the no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari on pole in the LMGTE category.
LMP2: Third Pole of 2021 for G-Drive but First for Colapinto
Eighteen cars took part in the 10-minute qualifying with Louis Deletraz making the early pace in the no41 Orlen Team WRT Oreca ahead of the no22 United Autosports Oreca of Jonathan Aberdein.
After sitting in the pitlane for what has now become a familiar strategy for the team, the no26 Aurus-Gibson was the last car out on track and Colapinto was immediately on the pace.The young Argentine posted a 1m37.645 to take the provisional pole position and then improved as the chequered flag came out to 1m37.469.Jonathan Aberdein went into second place, four tenths of a second behind lead car and 0.109s ahead of the no41 Oreca.
Ben Hanley was the fastest of the Pro-Am runners in the no21 Dragonspeed USA Oreca in 4thoverall, just ahead of Logan Sargeant in the Racing Team Turkey Oreca.Sargeant had been third, but his lap time was deleted for exceeding track limits, dropping the young American back to fifth.
LMP3: Three in a Row for DKR Engineering
Laurents Hörr took his third LMP3 pole in a row, putting the no4 DKR Engineering Duqueine-Nissan at the head of the class grid for tomorrow’s 4 Hours of Monza, but only by the narrowest of margins.The 4 Hours of Le Castellet winner was just 0.053s ahead of the no13 Inter Europol Competition Ligier of Belgium’s Ugo De Wilde and just 0.092s ahead of Garett Grist in the no20 Team Virage Ligier at the end of the 10-minute session.
LMGTE: Super Sub Pier Guidi Claims Pole for Spirit of Race at Monza
Matt Griffin’s replacement at Spirit of Race Alessandro Pier Guidi repaid the faith of the team by taking the pole position for his home race at Monza. Pier Guidi immediately dedicated the pole to Matt’s father, who passed away earlier in the week.
Alessio Rovera made the early running in the no88 AF Corse Ferrari, three tenths ahead of Pier Guidi but was soon displaced by the green liveried no55 Ferrari with a 1m46.608 lap time.The no95 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage was third quickest with Ross Gunn posting a 1m46.670 and the no77 Proton Competition Porsche of Gianmaria Bruni was fourth fastest with a 1m46.674.
Incredibly the top four cars were split by just 0.066s and the no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari 488 GTE EVO is the fourth different car in four races to hold the pole position this season.
The 4 Hours of Monza is due to start at 11h00 tomorrow afternoon.
